Fermata Partners Adds Notre Dame to Collegiate Roster
The University of Notre Dame has signed an agreement with Fermata Partners, Atlanta, to begin managing the licensing program for the University on July 1.
Notre Dame has long been one of the nation’s most recognizable in terms of consumer products, such as its “ND” logo and the fighting leprechaun.
“Notre Dame’s trademark licensing program has a long-standing history of leadership and innovation,” says Dave Harr, associate VP for auxiliary operations and chair of the University of Notre Dame’s trademark licensing Committee. “Fermata’s planned approach to our consumer product strategy is consistent with our vision and we look forward to working alongside our new partners to develop and execute a world class licensing program for our students, alumni and fans worldwide.”
Notre Dame’s trademark licensing program was established in the early 1980s as one of the first in the country, and the University itself is widely respected for the breadth and depth of its brand affinity. Notre Dame currently has 210 licensees that will begin transitional contract talks immediately.
With the deal, Notre Dame becomes the fifth university to sign with Fermata in the last year, joining Georgia, Kentucky, Miami and Oregon.
