CLC and Penn State Extend Partnership
The Collegiate Licensing Company (CLC), Atlanta, the licensing affiliate of IMG College, announced a multi-year extension of its current agreement with The Pennsylvania State University to continue managing the school’s trademark licensing program through June, 2019.
The entities have been partnered since 1994, and in that time, Penn State has generated nearly $55 million through its licensing royalties.
“CLC has been a valuable resource to the University over the past three decades as we’ve worked to grow the Penn State brand,” says Maureen Riedel, Penn State’s Director of Trademark Licensing. “We are excited to renew our partnership and look forward to implementing CLC’s new and innovative ways to continue to connect our fans to Penn State.”
Penn State has begun using CLC’s exclusive retail intelligence to identify new market opportunities, and as a result, school product is available at retailers such as Victoria’s Secret, and new licensees, such as Vera Bradley, a premium bag producer, are signing on to produce Penn State Gear.
Penn State is ranked 17th overall among CLC partner institutions in gross royalty revenues for the 2014-15 year.
