Fresno State Extends Partnership with CLC

The Collegiate Licensing Co. (CLC), Atlanta, announced an extension of its partnership with Fresno State to continue managing the university’s trademark licensing program through 2025.

The entities have had a partnership since 1983, and Fresno State’s licensing program has grown by more than 250% in revenue in the last 10 years.

“CLC understands the importance of the Fresno State brand and works side by side with us to expand our brand presence while staying true to the values and priorities of the university,” says Paula Castadio, vice president for advancement, Fresno State. “We are pleased to renew our long-time partnership and look forward to more success in the future.”

During the last decade, and with CLC’s assistance, Victoria’s Secret, Costco, Sam’s Club and Dick’s Sporting Goods began carrying Fresno State licensed merchandise.

“Fresno State has taken a strategic approach to its licensing program by partnering with CLC to educate retailers and licensees about its fan base and distinct brand attributes,” says Brian White, vice president, CLC. “As a result, the number of retail doors carrying school merchandise has grown from a handful in 2000 to hundreds today, throughout the state of California and nationally.”

The CLC currently represents nearly 2,000 collegiate institutions, including 29 bowl games and the College Football Playoff.
